Deep Stretch & Flow
A great class for every body. We are truly always beginners! We will begin our practice together with a centering, a gentle warm-up consisting of deep stretching on the floor, sun salutations, standing postures, forward bends, twists, hip-openers and shoulder openers, inversions with basic breathing exercises (pranayama). We will focus on cultivating breath and body awareness and moving in postures with the breath. Great class to improve your flexibility, release stiffness or soreness from your existing practice as well as tone and stregthen your body.

Erica Marcus, MAT, is a certified Mindful Schools Instructor and Kripalu Yoga Teacher. She pursued Mindful Schools training after years of teaching at a high performing charter middle school in Washington, D.C.  She has over 15 years of experience working with young people as a mindfulness educator, classroom teacher, outdoor educator, and senior wilderness youth therapy field staff member. Erica now offers mindfulness programming for students and teachers throughout New England. She also has developed workshops and curriculum around issues of screen dependency. In her free time, she paints, writes, hikes, runs, surfs, and eats ice cream. A retreat to find solace and rejuvenation amidst the hustle and bustle of work and family life

This retreat is geared towards educators, administrators, caregivers, and all who are interested in practicing mindfulness to invigorate themselves for their work with young people.  We will start out morning with gentle yoga, then practice mindfulness meditation through sitting, walking, and eating.  Infused throughout will be discussions on the impact of these experiences, as well as a basic introduction to the science of mindfulness, and how we can tap this internal resource throughout our day to support our work with children and teens.

Meghan Dutton lives in Newburyport, MA and currently works as a special educator, certified yoga instructor, and certified Mindful Schools mindfulness educator in schools throughout Massachusetts.
